Open multiple instances of Project for side-by-side comparison
I want to be able to compare project plans side by side on multiple screens, similar to Word or Excel. This would require multiple instances of Project to be open at the same time (again, similar to Word or Excel).

Deep integration with Microsoft Planner
Imagine this: you create a task in MSProject that requires action from a task owner. You click the Link to Planner button and go through the linking process (https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/brismith/2017/08/29/microsoft-planner-linking-plans-to-a-project-task/#comment-48795). But instead of just being a link to the Planner plan, you actually see the task as a card on the plan, with Task Name, Start Date, Finish Date, and Resources all being pulled from MSProject to Planner. Implement versioning in Project Online
Similar to the functionality available in Project Server on premise, please implement automatic and nightly backups and the ability to restore from backup project schedules in Project Online.
This way, if a user's schedule becomes corrupted or inadvertently publishes erroneous data, an administrator will be able to restore a previous copy of the schedule to the Project Online tenant without causing Timesheet and data anomalies.

Provide support for backup and restore of a single project
Back in the day, in Project Server, there used to be a feature that allowed Project Managers to backup their Projects at a stable state, make as many changes as they want, and in case things go south, restore the project from its previously backed up state.
Can we please have that functionality for Project Online? This is Microsoft cloud after all. How difficult can a backup be?

Add PeoplePicker fields as custom field type
A new field type in the manner of the SharePoint People/Group column type would help to gather information for reports and workflows. The best would be if you could select either from the entrerprise resource pool, selected categories/groups or from the SharePoint user pool or groups.

Clone Project Online PWA instances
Provide the ability in Project Online via the SharePoint Admin Center to clone one PWA instance into a new blank PWA instance so that you can have replica PROD / DEV / TEST PWA instances. This would be good out of the box via the SharePoint Admin Center UI without needing any tools.

Allow Administrators to modify the Status Manager without requiring manual intervention from the resource who created the task.
Currently, a status manager must log in to Project Server in order to update the status manager for a task. It would be easier if there was a category or global permission assigned to the Administrators group that would permit someone else to change the value.

Ability to permission control PDP pages and certain custom fields.
Clients often want to allow certain fields to be edited by (for example) project managers but not all fields.
The ability to select certain PDP pages or fields and toggle which security groups can modify which fields and pages would be excellent.

Ability to convert Risk to an Issue
Presently, there are 2 tabs/pages for a project to log both Risks & Issues. However, there is no feature to convert an existing Risk to Issue which happen most of the times.
When this is available as a feature it becomes easier to see the trail from Risk to Issue and the mitigation's which taken/not taken which caused this risk to convert to an issue.
When this conversion happens the risk should be closed referring to the Issue ID so it also becomes intuitive for the users and will definitely help the project managers and the project teams to manage…

Give us a way to read all useful task fields from Project Online
Is there is a supported way for Microsoft partners to read local custom fields residing in Project Online? What appears to be the case is that CSOM is supported for Project Online, but PSI is not. Furthermore PSI gives access to local custom fields but CSOM does not. Thus there is no supported solution that allows read access to local custom fields in Project Online. I hope I am missing something here. It would be great to know if I am wrong or if there is a workaround. Failing that, it would be great to get an enlargement of CSOM…

Having history for the project plan and custom fields
Be able to rollback to old version. or compare new schedule plan with old one.
Also view plan actions log, like who saved or published new version.

Show Hijri Date in Project Center / PDP
In the Middle East, we can't show the Hijri Date in Project Center (Project Server 2010/2013/2016 with Arabic Language Pack) for the following:
1. Start Date, End Date, End Date and custom field with date type in PDP.
2. Timeline Date.
3. Gantt chart.

Strong portfolio financials
Currently we are very weak in portfolio financials. We need to have capabilities around funding, detailed budgeting, capex and opex cash flows, allocation curves, cost breakdown structure, period financials etc. This is a great way to open the door with key decision makers.

persian calendar in MS project 2016
recently you added Persian calendar (jalali,hijri shamsi) to windows 10
it would be great that you add it to office and project 2016

Add Project Strategic Impact values to Odata feed
Currently Project Online allows for a project to be assessed against the Strategic Drivers. These rankings however, are not able to be accessed in any Odata feed. My request is that these fields are provided so they can be included in reporting and Power BI visuals.

Impersonation support for CSOM to read other user's timesheets
In order to centrally manage timesheets I need to retrieve programmatically all timesheets. If I try to impersonate I receive CSOMDelegationNotSupported. Please provide a method to access all user's timesheets.

Enhance Capacity/Engagement Heatmap to include assignments without engagements
I think that the Resource Capacity/Engagement Heatmap is an enormously useful feature – I’ve built very similar reports for my customers in the past.
However, the current iteration of this report only shows capacity that is accounted for by engagements, and doesn’t account for any assignments that do not have proposed or committed engagements.
I think that enhancing this page to include information concerning assignments without corresponding engagements would be extremely valuable in two primary scenarios:
1) Identifying cases where resource capacity is being consumed outside of an engagement within the heatmap UX, especially considering that the stated intent of…95 votes -
Allow an alias to be associated with Baseline, Baseline 1, Baseline 2 etc
Being able to associate and alias (or renaming) Baseline fields would provide highly effective ways to present and view current project data and baseline data in a more meaningful way. If set at the server level (using Project Online or Project Server) it provides organisational consistency in how baselines can be used. The aliases should be visible in usage views and in PWA views. Typical scenarios are when the baseline should be set at the end of each key stage gate milestone or at the end of specific process stages.
