  1. Show Hijri Date in Project Center / PDP

    In the Middle East, we can't show the Hijri Date in Project Center (Project Server 2010/2013/2016 with Arabic Language Pack) for the following:

    1. Start Date, End Date, End Date and custom field with date type in PDP.
    2. Timeline Date.
    3. Gantt chart.
    4. Views

    If we changed the calendar regional setting in site setting, and go back to Project Center We got the below error:

    "Sorry, something went wrong
    This feature requires either a Gregorian calendar or a calendar that uses a Gregorian recurrence pattern.

    • Deep integration with Microsoft Planner

      Imagine this: you create a task in MSProject that requires action from a task owner. You click the Link to Planner button and go through the linking process (https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/brismith/2017/08/29/microsoft-planner-linking-plans-to-a-project-task/#comment-48795). But instead of just being a link to the Planner plan, you actually see the task as a card on the plan, with Task Name, Start Date, Finish Date, and Resources all being pulled from MSProject to Planner.       • Generic Resource Assignments causes a duration or work of 0

        Resources can be flagged as a generic resource and do have an max. availability of 0 %. Normally, generic resources behave like normal resources - you assign them to a task and depending on the task type the work/duration/units are calculated, even if there's are max. units of 0 %, it will calculate based on 100 %. Since a couple of months, this is not the case anymore, the client calculates based on 0% and as a consequence the duration of every task goes to 0 (=milestone). This is a huge pain. Please fix it.         • Please bring back the Office 365 PPM Dashboard

          Microsoft removed the Office 365 PPM Dashboard recently almost without warning, instead pushing customers to the new PowerBI Project Online Content pack. Great as the content pack is, there are many customers who still rely on the Office 365 PPM Dashboard for reporting and whilst PowerBI may be planned the transition process (esp in large companies) may take several months. There are also licensing issues because the access and editing of reports in PowerBI requires a higher level of licensing that might currently be the case for some users.           • [Bug] The Site Title can not be changed in Seattle Master Page in Project Server 2016

            By default In Project Server 2016, the assigned Master Page for the PWA Instance is Seattle with Home word as a Site Title.

            So I have tried to change the PWA Site Title through

            - Site Settings > Look and Feel > Title,Description and Logo.

            But unfortunately, The new Site Title is not changed as attached.

            By the way, The farm has been updated with the latest Cumulative update (Sept 2017) for SharePoint 2016 and looks like the issue still not solved!

            • ODATA Feed Aggregation

              WIth the new changes to timephased ODATA feeds we need an API to at least read and preferably set the "Timephased Data" settings so when making reports we can adapt based on the user's aggregation selection of:

              - Never (default)
              - Daily (legacy behaviour)
              - Weekly
              - Monthly
              - Fiscal

              Please add CSOM/REST interface for this.

              • Support for Arabic language in Lookup Table Custom Field in Project Server 2016 / 2013

                Problem

                The search in Arabic in Lookup Table Custom Field is not working properly in Project Server 2016 / 2013.

                In Project Server 2016 / 2013, I tried to create a lookup table with Arabic Entries by doing the following:

                - Go to PWA Settings.
                - Below Enterprise Data, Click on Enterprise Custom Fields and Lookup Tables.
                - Scroll down to Lookup Tables for Custom Fields.
                - Create a new Lookup Table with Text type.
                - Add Arabic Entries.
                - Go back to create a custom field that will get the data from the created lookup table.

                • Summarize the total number of displayed Projects in Project Center

                  In Project Server (All Versions), Although the Project Center is characterized by a great toolbar with many helpful functions like Filter, Group…etc, you still can not count the total number of the displayed projects!

                  By the way, I have developed a 'Project Center Totalize' Google Extension that calculates the Projects status and the total number of displayed projects in the Project Center.

                  • Add Timesheet Notification Options in Manage My Alerts and Reminders

                    Submitted on behalf of a client.

                    Similar to task notifications, allow for timesheet notifications in Manage My Alerts and Reminders with similar (appropriate) options.

                    There are currently no notifications to the Timesheet Manager when a timesheet is submitted. The only way to see this is by logging into Project Online and going to the Approvals page. This is not very user friendly and forces the user to "go see" if there are any new timesheets in the system to approve, rather than being informed that there is.

                    • persian calendar in MS project 2016

                      recently you added Persian calendar (jalali,hijri shamsi) to windows 10
                      it would be great that you add it to office and project 2016
                      lack of this feature in project make it almost impossible to use for us in iran and those that use Persian calendar

                      • Have true entity modified dates in the Odata API feeds

                        With the update for modified dates in all entities in the Project Online OData API, it would be good if these dates were true modified dates. For example, if a project is published with no changes to any tasks, only the Project Modified Date should update but today all of the Task Modified Dates get updated too and match the project modified date. Changing to true entity modified dates would enable delta sync from Project Online OData to a SQL Database.

                        • Agile boards in PWA

                          The new agile features added to Project are good for planning. Key aspect of agile is communication in teammembers, so access to the plan/boards for team is very important.
                          It can be sufficient just display the boards in project site or in PWA.

                          • Planner integration: Render Planner icon also in PWA and add additional status columns in web and client

                            It is necessary to display the planner icon also in the web. Planner is a tool for team members, so these should be able to quickly navigate to the work management area.
                            Apart from that basic information from the Planner should flow back to Project, at least on a button click by the project owner: number of items open/in progress/late/closed, latest finish, earliest start

                            • OData Propery Name in the CSOM / REST CustomField Class and CustomField InternalName or ID in the Odata schema

                              Provide the OData propery name in the CSOM / REST CustomField Class and also CustomField InternalName or ID in the Odata schema. In the Odata schema the Projects entity for a given custom field it could be: <Property Name="TEST" Type="Edm.String" Id"c9ce7c68-a7cf-e711-80cd-00155d54b307"/>

                              This would make it far easier when working with REST and OData, currently today we have to guess / test all possible values are there seem to be inconsistencies in the spec.

                                • Provide 'SetProjectBaseline' method in CSOM

                                  We should be able to set project baseline through workflow or apps by calling this method and passing the baseline number as a parameter. This would allow organizations to set baseline through workflow at a specific point in time in the project life cycle.

                                    • Improve Project Opening times by rolling-up EngagementTimephasedDataSet

                                      Our use case is for Programmes/Projects spanning multiple years, with resources assigned for the length of a Programme.

                                      Currently Project Desktop takes an age to open Project Plans, because of the sheer amount of data in the EngagementTimephasedDataSet.

                                      We'd like to see this be aggregated up to weekly/monthly/fiscal period like the other timephased developments to help speed up opening of plans.

                                      • Why cant excel be linked with MPP?Interopebility between excel and MPP to import and export

                                        I need information from Excel to be imported to Project and Vice Versa as I am working on the offerings and have days for each task listed which I have to manually enter and give the predecessor for MPP to understand. which can be automated to save time and effort and avoid any manual errors.

                                          Hello Vamsi,

                                          I’d like to understand what exactly you’re trying to do here – have you tried using “Import from Excel” when creating a new Project file? Are you trying to use an MPP in both Excel and Project? I’d like to understand what you’re trying to achieve by using both applications on the MPP.

                                        • BUG:Project Online: Project ID on Timesheet is empty.

                                          The Project ID column on the Timesheet view is empty. Each project has a unique ID generated by the Project template. Resources in our company sometimes uses the ID to identify the project as some of our projects have almost similar names but different IDs. This is a bug.
