Addition of 'Programs' or structured grouping of projects for reporting and Risk/Issue assignemnet
Creation of program (multiple projects) , and enterprise (one per instance), where sites would be created and risks and issues, along with OLAP/Reporting could auto roll up to a customers alignment.
i.e. The same way projects can have sub projects, but without the embedding of the projects them selves. Designated 'Portfolio' pages would automatically have a different sharepoint site template, allow for high level risks and issues to be managed, and have automated dashboards for showing high level cost and schedule metrics, across a group of projects. The highest level, would then be the enterprise, where all programs, risks, and…

engagements
CSOM API for Engagements in Project Server 2016 on premise is missing.
Please add CSOM API or allow another way to update engagements programmatically. The Engagements CSOM API works well for Project Online but fails when attempteing the exact same code on 16 On Premise (minus the authentication off course).
The error seems to be coming from the server:
“Microsoft.SharePoint.Client.ServerException: Field or property “Engagements” does not exist.

Include administrative work into the capacity report and take this work into account for the calculation of capacity.
If an organization wants to be able to manage their resource capacity with PPM then they should be able to register not project related work and see the impact of this not project related work on their resource capacity. (see attached screenshot)
PPM currently has the so called “administrative” tasks for registering not project related work. But work registered on administrative tasks is not taken into account for the calculation of remaining resource capacity. You would expect that the administrative tasks (Work Type: Working) behave the same as project related work when it comes to resource capacity. But unfortunately they…33 votes -
Add a flag (per site collection) so that users can choose whether HTML tags should remain in the ODATA feed
The removal of HTML tags in the ODATA feed has had severe implications for custom reports which relied on these tags in order to preserve the formatting entered into Enterprise Custom fields displayed on PDPs. Is it possible to provide a way to select which fields in the ODATA field have the HTML tags removed, or failing this, to allow the admin to decide at Site Collection or PWA instance level.

Lock down specific levels/tasks of a project plan template
Ensuring that key reporting tasks or milestones of a plan tempate is protected. This would allow for much stronger reporting and would remove the need of programmatically control specific key tasks.

Provide security trimming for the OData reporting endpoint
Analogous to the CSOM/REST API endpoints also the OData reporting endpoints should be security trimmed, providing only the data that is available to the user in Project Center and Resource Center

Project Online an VSTS integration for Agile
Long awaited integration between Project Online and VSTS. Would be good to have a story around agile frameworks like SAFe.
30 votesHi everyone!
We’re looking into how to bring Microsoft products together even more, so your feedback is appreciated! We’d love to hear how you would use Project and VSTS together. What would you expect in a Project and VSTS integration? How do you currently use the two separately?

Project Status And Archiving
Project status Active, Complete, Cancelled
When a project is active it show up on project center. When its complete or cancelled, an archive option now let us archive the project in a specific place witch project manager can access for consulting and lessons learned. Its not on project center anymore, and the same happens eith the project site and other data like issues and risks that belongs to the archive project.
When a project is cancelled and it's not 100% yet (example: you cancel a project around 40% complete). You can archive the project with a cancelled report saying what…

Import holidays to Project Calendar
It should be possible to import national holidays into Project calendar, the same way we do it on Outlook.

Make 'Start' and 'finish' dates Read only
PMs often change 'Start' and 'Finish' dates for tasks accidently which, in turn, applies scheduling constraints to tasks. This often introduces confusion and complexity into a schedule.
Instead I suggest that 'Start' and 'Finish' columns for 'Auto scheduled' tasks be made read only. (if you want to adjust dates, use manually scheduled tasks).
If a PM wants to impose fixed date (my means of a Scheduling Constraint) they could double click on the task and from the advanced tab of the Task Information apply a scheduling constraint from there.
I understand that this is a significant paradigm shift for Project…

More powerful PWA Views (Project Center, Resource and Detail views)
Configuration and UI of Project Center, Resource Center views can be made more powerful. Especially searching projects/resources should be made much simpler and easier with keyword search not custom filter. Configuration should be made similar to SharePoint views. More complex filtering and [Me] and [Today] based dynamic filtering should be allowed. Filtering, sorting should allow some calculated functions from excel or vba etc. Formatting like conditional formatting should be introduced.

Querying and Approving Resource Assignments Programatically
Provide support in the CSOM for querying and Approving Resource Assignments Programmatically. Resource Assignment approval will be very useful for assignments that break business rules, but not all assignments will. If approval for assignments was exposed to the CSOM, we could programmatically approve assignments that didn't break our rules, leaving the ones that do for a resource manager to approve.

Add a custom list web part in project site to the odata feed for status reporting
Allow admins to create a custom list web part in the SharePoint project sites that can be included in the odata feed. This would allow for more effective reporting of project status in a narrative format. The existing solution (enterprise custom fields on a project detail page) does not save history and is littered with html tags in the odata feed. A custom list for status reports in the project site saves history but cannot be easily reported on across the system because it is not included in the odata feed.

Enable the new Capacity Planning Reports to be exported to Excel and PDF
With the new Capacity Planning reports (Heat map, Resource utilization / availability etc.) there is no way to export the data to Excel like you could with the old Resource Availability view. Providing the functionality to Export to Excel will give the ability to do further data analysis. Also exporting to PDF would be good as the reports can easily be shared.

BUG - Notebook naming with Project Site Templates
This is happening with Project Online but I recall it happening with Project Server as well. Whenever you create a Project Site template and associate it with an EPT, the notebook naming convention does NOT change. It maintains the original name. THis is confusing and it means that we can't name the template anything particularly unique because every Project Manager freaks out that the notebook is wrong. And, the question is as to whether or not the notes are all sitting on the one single file or if they are sitting in the actual project. Also, this happens REGARDLESS if…

Include Status Manager in OData Feed
Include the Status Manager in the tasks table in the Microsoft reporting database. Currently the only way is to go into each project to see the status manager. This would help in governance and support..
