  2. Add configuration options for publishing projects

It would be appropriate that a configuration parameter allows or not to automatically publish a project after a status manager accept task updates on his approvals page. This would avoid to project manager to open and publish all project plans it has updated and ensure users of reporting that the published data are current.

Another alternative to satisfy this need would be to add a function in Database Administration section allows us to select one, several or all projects and force publishing (as for the function «Force Check-in Enterprise Object»)

  3. Allow the management of cost resources in the PWA and their assignment in templates for new projects

Currently cost resources can only be properly used via the Project Professional client. They cannot be assigned in a template for a new project as this crashes the project creation. When using those resources in the PWA you can assign them, but you cannot update, cost, actual cost and remaining cost values as the fields are only editable in Task views and update only the task field but not the assignment fields (different to editing work resources, where updates on task level reflect also to the assignments). Therefore cost resources are currently useless when editing projects only via the PWA

  4. Allow Custom Fields to have a size limiter

I would like to have a limit on the number of characters for a custom field. For example, I have a custom field, it is a number field but I want only 5 characters in length - the individual can enter up to five numbers but no more. This will ensure that the field matches what I need it to for reporting and for data validation. And, while we are at it, it would be great to have the ability to limit the minimum number of characters as well. In this example, I would want the minimum and maximum to…

  5. User Office 365 Groups with Project Sites

Make it possible to point Office 365 Groups to an existing project site so we can use the power of Groups for project e-mail communication while keeping the documents on the project site i.e. not creating a another document library that could split document location.

  6. Don't show features in the ribbon a user doesn't have access to

When a user doesn't have access (either it's unused, or no access to it have been granted) to a specific feature, he/she doesn't want to see the button in the ribbon. The cleaner the UI is, the easier it is to work with Project Online.

  7. Office 365 ribbon : change Project link redirection behavior

Scenario for a multinational company with several business entities with only 1 Office 365 tenant.

Scenario : 2 PWA instances for 2 business entities
    - Instance "I1" (Default PWA instance on the tenant) with Admin "A1"
    - Instance "I2" (additional PWA instance created following article https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Set-up-another-Project-Online-site-d44b5a70-3df3-417e-bad8-3021e3a4c896) with Admin "A2"
    - Users from I1 have no access to I2 (and vice-versa).

When connected on any PWA instance (I1 or I2), end-users have a Project link in the Office 365 ribbon. The Project link is always pointing to the DEFAULT PWA instance home page (in our scenario : I1 home page).

    Hi all!

We have a new default experience that we call Project Home that you can access through the Project tile. Project Home allows you to see all of your recent/favorite projects across different PWA instances through the click of the Project tile.

As always, thank you for your feedback. As any additional feedback comes up through this area, please share them with us through Uservoice under /Project Home.

  8. Allow opening new tabs for each project from Project Center

Previously in PWA, it is possible to open a new tab for the project by pressing CTRL + click project description.

Recently this feature has been disabled and is preventing new tab from being opened. Please consider letting the admin choose the options!

  9. Improve oData request

Make available Timephased data on a Monthly basys additionally to the time by DAY.
Request oData feed on a daily basys is not usable on "big" projects of some years. Be able to request on a monthly basis will decrease the amount of data to request and store.

  10. Expand the reporting database (ODATA)

Expand the reporting database to include key schedule data (e.g. predecessors, etc). These data are not readily accessible with PWA and could be used to create user-authored schedule audits.
    Examples:
-tracking the number of cross-project predecessors in an indirect measure of organizational collaboration, would help to market the value of PWA
-identifying schedules with complex predecessors (e.g. SF) and lead/lag is useful to building more robust project schedules

  11. Add a Baseline Comment Field

New project baselines are typically required due to scope, priority, or resource changes. We could track these changes more easily if each baseline included a comment field.

  12. Tracking Method and the Mark Complete Button on the Tasks Page

Consider a customer who has configured Single Entry Mode and enabled Protected Actuals (Task Settings and Display > Only allow task updates via Tasks and Timesheets). This customer is using a forced Tracking Method of Hours of Work Done per Period.

Team Members at this customer have been trained to not use the Mark Complete button on the Tasks page. Despite their previous training, this customer's Team Members expect this button to simply zero out the Remaining Work for a task, thereby marking it complete in the current period.

Instead, this button sets % Work Complete for the assignment to…

  13. Notifications & Better reporting for Resource Engagements

Resource Engagments were rolled out to Project Online in 2015 and notifications in CY 2016.

However, notifications do not allow for offering the Resource Managers notifications. So, Resource Engagements should also be a part of the notifications.

In addition to this, better reporting (more columns in the odata feeds) should be enable to better track and report your Resource Portfolio.

You actually can turn on notifications for resource engagements. As long as you have notifications turned on for your tenant, when you go to Resource Center, select the resources you’d like to receive notifications for, then in the ribbon click “Request Reminders”. This button should be visible next to “Print”. If you don’t see this button, then it likely means that notifications are not turned on for your tenant.

    Hope this helps!

As for oData feeds, this might be better addressed in a new suggestion.

  14. Inactivating a user in AD does not inactivate the resource in Project Online - sync does not inactivate

Please fix the AD sync issue we logged with support. We have an AD group that syncs with the Enterprise Resource Pool. When inactivating users in AD the sync does not inactivate them in Project Online. It works for on premise Project Server but not in Project Online. Customers are not happy since Project Managers are no longer alerted that they have inactive resources assigned to tasks in their projects. Admins do not always know who has left. This is now an extra manual step for them.

  15. Deliverables DEpendencies odata

Hi, it would be good to improve the deliverable/dependency data in order to create a map report.

  16. A Resource Manager should be able to create a Resource Engagement in PWA as Proposed

Currently, someone such as a Resource Manager using the PWA Resource Center interface to establish and book resources via the resource engagement feature can do so but unfortunately it limits them setting up as committed only ('Proposed' resource engagement is not possible via PWA). A resource manager may wish to soft book the resource in question and unfortunately only way to do so is via Project Professional. As you know, using Project Professional adds to the complexity of accomplishing this operation.

  17. Timephased Resource Information

While effort and base capacity is timephased, the associated resource information such as Team Name, Resource Department, RBS, and Timesheet Manager are not. This means that as staff move about the organization, our reports will only ever show their effort as associated with their current state of employment. This gap causes concern and inaccurate historical reports.

Question from Leadership: "How many QA hours did that last ERP Program (of multiple projects) need?" or "How has the balance of operational effort, support effort, and project effort changed over the last three years?"

Answer today: We're not sure. Two of them are…

  18. Add the ability map additional attributes from AD to Resources

Many companies have attributes in Active Directory that can be use to sort, filter and group users. It would be helpful if the sync process provided the ability to map those attributes to custom fields in Project Online. so that they would show up in the Resource table

  19. Prevent deletion of tasks with baselines

Users often forget to clear the baseline before deleting a task. Show an alert message if a user tries to delete a baselined task.

  20. Introduce Timephasing of Risks

Our customers often ask for Risk reporting over time. They would like to see the level of risk associated with a project as time progresses.

Currently Risk are stored as point in time and we lose all historical values associated with costs and scoring.

It would be helpful to have time phasing of risk within the product (Project Server/Project Online)
