  2. Bring Power BI and Excel Web Services into Government cloud so that reports can be dynamic.

    These feature are available commercially. There's no published timeline for bringing these into compliance for Government.

  3. 'Overallocated' Flag not set at Task Level

    Hello, the ToolTip against the 'Overallocated' Flag states: "Indicates whether any of the assigned resources on a task is assigned to more work on the task ... than can be done within the normal working capacity". However, even though this Flag is set for the Resource at Task level -- even if there is only one Resource against the Task -- it is not set at Task Level. This makes filtering at Task-level in the Gantt impossible...

    The second a single Task Resource is Overallocated, then that Task obviously has "assigned resources ... assigned to more work on the task…

  4. Since you have now added Status to the TimeLine view, can you include a bar for baseline information?

    Since you added the capability, not yet in full production, of putting status information on the Timeline view, can you also allow the user the ability to include Baseline information. Giving the user the ability to select bar styles in the Timeline view, like we do in the Gantt Chart, would be a great help.

    Improved Network Diagram view. Improve the functionality to make the utility similar (as one example) to WBS Pro application.

  6. Improve template task names

    • Make all detail tasks evidence based, e.g. instead of Analyze Requirements, provide Produce Requirements Document. The task is finished when the document is delivered.

    Better is to put the verb at the end to enable speed reading down the Task Names to find a particular task, e.g. Requirements Document: produce & get approval.

    • Make milestones all have past tense verbs because management is more interested in what has been achievED that in what is planned.

    • Make Summary tasks have “…ing” verbs (gerunds) to help differentiate from detail and milestone tasks.

  7. Task Ribbon rearrange into planning and tracking sections

    Rearrange sections Schedule and Tasks into Planning and Tracking sections.

    Planning: New task, Summary, Milestone, Link, unlink, etc.
    Tracking: Gather updating tools together

        Mark on track, Update task, Move(s)…
    

    On Tasks, remove 25% and 75% tools - they promote updating incorrectly, instead of Remaining Worhours or Remaining Duration.

  9. Restore previous document library ability to approve multiple documents at once

    The previous version of Document Library allowed selection of multiple documents then Approve could be performed for all selected. This feature has been removed in the new SharePoint. Please reinstate it!

  10. Allow for calendar selection on Start and Actual Start fields in the Tasks page

    The Finish and Actual Finish fields allow you to view a calendar selection tool when modifying those field values from the Tasks page. However, the Start and Actual Start fields do not. You just have to type the date values into these fields. Why would there be different behavior for the same type of field (date)? Please please please standardize!

  12. Graphical Reporting

    We currently have the ability to create custom fields and formulas and then use graphical indicators based on their results. However we really should have the ability to use those indicators in the client side graphical reports. We should also be able to apply hyperlinks to images within a graphical report, not just a text box. These hyperlinks would allow for making navigation and other items within a report more usable.

    Hi John,

    We agree with you that it makes the most sense to show the graphical indicators in the reports, instead of the value. Feel free to reopen another suggestion with just that as an idea (you should be refunded your votes).

    As for the second portion, you can currently hyperlink to an image within a report. To do this, insert the image, right-click, and select Hyperlink.

  14. Improve Power View Functionality


    1. Printing Capabilities
      Currently, Excel's Power View will only print the data that is visible on the screen, even if the data extends beyond that. It would be incredibly helpful to be able to print this.


    2. Support in browsers other than Explorer
      When trying to view the Power View report in any internet browser other than Explorer, an error message is thrown. I cannot control what browser coworkers use when viewing a report and this would be incredibly helpful for executives.


    3. Formatting
      The formatting in Power View is very limited, can the normal excel formatting options be carried over into Power…

  15. Allow to set Russian (or any other language) in Site Settings -> Regional Settings

    While trying to change the language by steps:
    Site Settings -> Regional Settings
    Language - any other differ from English - there is an Error.
    Defect description and screen shots (in Russian) are in attached.

  18. Recalling Approved Timesheets

    Today a user is able to recall an approved timesheet and make amendments. This causes issue with time reporting and billing and sometimes progress reporting too. We should not allow an "Approved" timesheet to be recalled. This is a design issue.

  19. Additional time that is submitted against an assignment with a pending approval should not process before the pending approval is cleared.

    If there is a pending approval request, and in the next timesheet, the user tries to submit more time against that task, any more time that is submitted against that task should not go through until the previous pending approval request is processed.

  20. The ability to model shift work, by process of elimination in the calendar

    There is a need to create a calendar for shift personnel working on the schedule shown in the figure. Schedule of exceptions is defined by the calendar. Ask the first cycle does not cause difficulties. When you enter the second cycle of exclusion conflict occurs between the first and the second exception. It is necessary to be able to use the calendars to the full.
