  1. Bring back Integration to Azure Devops

    The integration between MS Project and Azure Devops was very useful. While the improved Excel integration with Devops is welcome, it does not make up for the deprecation of the Devops integration with Project. Please bring the integration back!

    Getting more apps for project and task management of Project Desktop, Project Online, PWA, Project for the Web, Devops, Planner, and ToDo with less integration is the wrong direction! The right direction is a common data model for projects and tasks which can be exposed through an appropriate UI.

  2. Predecessors and Successors Selection Window Formatting

    In the Predecessors and Successors Selection Window, provide an option to display tasks in a WBS hierarchy layout, with the inclusion of the WBS Naming and the task ID next to the name of the predecessor/successor for more granular level of detail. When there are multiple tasks with the same name and with no other reference points, an incorrect predecessor can be inadvertently selected.

  3. Default report of time booked on administrative tasks

    Our resources book time on various administrative tasks. Tasks that aren't planned but they have to spend time on anyway because of operations. We want to create statistics on how much time they generally spend on each post to determine where we're bleeding too much development time to operational work.

    Currently there is no way I'm aware off (except for custom reports) to get percentages of time that one person or everyone books on the administrative tasks. We'd have to look back at all approved timesheets individually to create this insight, which is laborious.

  4. Add a button in the ribbon or on the grid which allows a user to quickly recreate the timesheet

    Add a button in the ribbon or on the grid which automates recalling, deleting, and recreating a timesheet.

  5. Allow Timeline Task Colors to Match the colors on the Gantt Chart.

    Currently, I'm able to automatically color a task bar in the Gantt chart according to the resource group, albeit that processes could be simplified as well. When viewing in Timeline the task color is set to a light blue. It would be excellent if there was an option to set the color of the Timeline bar to match the color of the Gantt chart bar for the associated task.

  6. Please allow a user to open multiple project files in separate windows

    Please allow a user to open multiple project files in separate windows. Microsoft's primary product is Windows (with an 'S') - the very defining feature of the operating system is that you can open multiple (plural) windows at the same time.

    Quite frankly, it is ridiculous that this functionality does not exist, and even more ridiculous that Microsoft's feedback for this often-requested feature is "this is not possible, try printing to PDF". The lack of this feature seriously handicaps an otherwise very powerful piece of software.

  7. Please create "Cumulative Baseline Cost" Field for creating S-Curve Reports within MS Project Desktop

    In order to create an effective S-Curve report, the schedule should, at the minimum, be able to display the Cumulative Planned Cost (Baseline Cost) and the Cumulative Actual Cost (Actual Cost) along the project timeline (Weekly or Monthly).
    Only the Cumulative Cost field is available right now. There is no field that can be use for the Cumulative Baseline Cost.
    Right now our team would have to develop the S-Curve report using PowerBI. it is doable but I would prefer for it to be done in MS Project Desktop to keep my workflow simple.

  8. Acknowledge that people leave, and allow for global replacements of status manager and timesheet approvals.

    e.g. when Suzie leaves the company, allow for a global replacement of status manager on any tasks that carry her name. OR when a Chris has an accident and never returns to work, allow any timesheets that have already been submitted to him but not approved to automatically transition to the new assigned timesheet approver.

    How would you want to give tasks different colors? Would you want to choose this yourself, or would you want it to be programmatic?

    Thanks for the suggestion – we’ve been investigating it a little, but would love to hear your thoughts on what you’d expect/want from this!

  11. Save page setup to view

    Views are very useful however it would be great if you could set up and save the page setup and print settings for a given view. This would be useful for instance when regularly saving or printing to pdf.

    Looking forward to other's thoughts and feedback.

  13. webhooks instead of event handlers

    Instead of registering Event handlers , Microsoft graph and SharePoint has the introduced the webhooks approach to replace event receivers in SharePoint, looking to have similar approach to use HTTP endpoint instead of using the current WCF endpoint

  14. Ability to show link lines between rolled-up items on summary bars

    Ability to show link lines from a milestone/task on one summary rollup and connect to a milestone/task on another summary rollup. Ability to control the thickness, color, striping of any one of those link lines. This will enable us to control visualization different kinds of links (like primary, secondary, tertiary, or links for different capability threads). Suggest creating a flag field titled “Show Rolled Up Successor Link”.   15. Provide Option to save Timesheet Custom View

    Currently, if a user skips a week or they enter timesheets out of order, any previous view settings (columns, sorts, etc.) and/or added rows will disappear. The user then needs to rebuild their timesheet view and contents.
    Proposed Solution: We are currently looking for a save option or custom view option that a user can go back to and reselect without having to redo everything. Or when a user goes to select the “Click to Create” link will prompt user to select YES or NO to answer question, “Do you want to select last timesheet view?”

  16. Timesheet Submitted message is misleading when tasks require approval

    When a user submits their timesheet, the Timesheet page will display the message "Your timesheet has been sent to <Timesheet Manager> for approval".

    If the timesheet contains any tasks that are pending for Status Manager's approval, the same message is displayed even though the Timesheet Manager does not see this timesheet in their Approvals page.

    This message is misleading and users are following up with their Timesheet Manager, who has no timesheet to approve, and this causes confusion for both parties.

    There should be a new message to display for this scenario that tells the user that the timesheet has…

    there should be a by default option to export to outlook or not for each task or summery task so that alert easy we get in outlook easier to follow the project plan.

  19. Increasing Resource limit from 10K to 100K or more.

    We have over 20 thousand resources and with the limit we are not able to add them all. This is in only one division of the company.
