I would like to have Project Web App in Microsoft Teams.
What are the top things from Project Online that you would expect to be able to do in Teams?
Would love to hear everyone’s thoughts.

I'd be content if the PWA would render as a Website tab in a Team. That way users could simply have the Project Online experience from the Team or break into a fresh browser tab where needed. This would be an enormous win from a user orientation point of view before the actual functionality is even considered. It's been a consistently frustrating experience over the last few years that aspects of the O365 service itself aren't deemed suitable Websites to add in this manner.

Agree it would be awesome to have MS Project Plans show in a Teams Tab. Just showing the schedule read-only would be incredible.

I would like to have a connector to MS Project and Project Online - being able to pull in the project schedule like we can now pull in an excel file to work directly in Teams.
Ideally all the functionality from Project Server/Project Online including the work spaces, status reporting etc. could be move to Teams - so everything one project team needs could be contained in one TEAM …
It would be nice if the same kind of (or actually the same) custom fields could be defined on teams or planner plans as on Project level in project online. So they can be aggregated on portfolio level together with projects

Teams seems to have better acceptance and use within our company than project sites. I would like to see project site functionality reside within Team. At a minimum allow a way to enter timesheet hours and task updates. I believe we can already link files from Teams to the project site.
Hi there, I want to know if Teams can feed into Project online so that staff does not have to capture on project online aswell as Teams. Is it correct that this cannot be done, but, What you can do is to publish your project plan in Project Online and add a Tab to your Project Online plan in Teams as a web tab? Once project Online is on your Teams web tab – do you then duplicate captured Teams’ hours on that tab?
some ideas are already mentioned: create a team instead of a project site, team members can view their project tasks in the team (and project leads the approvals). How about adding a conversation to a project task?
Here's my user story: we created a project file and it's sitting in the sharepoint library backend. I want to use planner by linking it to project. I go to the project file to link to planner, and it says "publish the project". I can't. I can't find a way to publish it. What I would love more than anything is to hit an easy button that allows planner to directly link to the project file I have in my sharepoint library within my teams site. Make it easy please. Maybe I need more help...?
Hi. I would like our team to be able to collaborate directly through teams on a project plan and then teams issue updates and reminders etc.
How about we fix some of the stuff that should have been fixed a long time ago before we go and expand functionality?

If we could add a tab for MS Project this tool would work both to manage the ongoing day to day task. I would also allow the overall schedule to drive decisions so sliding task.
As MVP, I would recommend project online should support:
Persona 1: team member (contibutor)
- View all tasks
- Filter own and/or non-completed tasks
- Filter on a time-period (e.g. view tasks in next months to plan absences)
- Ability to report % complete on own tasks
Persona 2: Project Coordinator/Project Manager
(in addition to persona 1)
- create/delete/assign tasks
- assign tasks
- change effort/duration
- add/remove dependencies
- recalculate project
Synchronisation capability between Microsoft project's Kanban and Scrum boards and Microsoft Planner. e.g. Planner Buckets = MSProject Sprints, Planner Progress = MSProject Kanban
We would want to use Teams to manage our project communication much like today as we use project sites as the single source of truth for project information (docs, issues, risks, etc.). Teams should combine the features of a project site with the Teams functionality e.g. chat, meetings, calling, etc. functionality of Teams making Teams the single source of truth of project information. When a new project is created a Team should be created with a template to provide the necessary project features; issues, risks, documents, schedule (from PWA), Timesheets, etc.

I agree that integration needs to happen between PWA and Teams. I have used Flow to setup a rule to inform Teams when a project is created and it also sets up a Teams Channel for the project, but the two are not integrated with each other. It would be nice to have a Collaboration Quick Link on the PWA menu so the channel and project are linked together. What I want is to track everything that happens with a project including chat conversations and virtual meetings so everything is together. Right now, I have to go to too many different places in order to gather all the information.
I agree that a Team Site and Project Site need to act in the same way. Project is managed and executed by a Project Team and therefore the Project Site should be no different than a Team Site but only to have additional functionality to include Project specific activities.
Please add this.

We are using Teams for project collaboration. The team needs to be able to easily see and interact with the project schedule, issue and risks. We would want to open the Project webapp within the teams window, similar to how other Microsoft apps like PowerBI, Excel, etc. open in the teams environment.

Along with of Project Site that we get now, I would like to have one TEAM associated with every Project in PWA , so Project team can converse, share document and add other details as needed for TEAM. This will also give us one mailbox for each Project Team

I would expect that a new project comes with a Team instead of an old fashioned subsite.
Basic scheduling and a Project Online Bot.
