It would help integration scenarios tremendously if the the Project for the Web REST API (e.g. "https://project.microsoft.com/pss/api/v1.0/projects") could be documented and rendered more accessible by providing samples. One scenario that would be fitting is the creation and update of tasks triggered by another tool/event.26 votes
In the new Project add the ability to filter by task, by resource or by date26 votes
Hi all -
We’re working on introducing a simple way to filter your tasks. We’ll keep you updated on the exact timing of this feature rollout, but you should see it coming soon!
As in Planner it would be very useful if an assignee gets a notification right within Microsoft Teams when a task has been assigned. And also important, the ability to get notifications in Teams only and optional also as an e-mail.24 votes
(Project for the web)
Possibility to add all kind of resources/users to a task.
Right now we can only add users who are part of the environment.22 votes
Project for the web - when I adjust column widths it would be useful if those adjustments remained consistent the next time I went into Project for the web. This would be especially useful when framing Project for the web in Teams because of the limited screen space.22 votes
We need the ability to add attachments to a task/subtask and a project in general. Same functionality as in Planner. Ideally we can add attachments from anywhere in SharePoint across multiple teams.
If you accidentally delete a project, or if a person maliciously deletes projects (e.g. rogue employee), you MUST have the ability to restore a project or multiple projects. In addition, if a person accidentally or maliciously destroys a project, you MUST also have the ability to restore it as of a given date & time.
Please, make it so.20 votes
As can be currently done in the desktop version, we need to be able to input the unavailability of resources so that the project schedule automatically takes it into account when the duration of a task is entered19 votes
Although it is more of a cosmetic improvement, updating the Project icon to the new modern look would go a long way to help reinforce that Project is still moving forward just like the rest of the O365 apps and not stuck in some forgotten junk pile.
Heck, even Planner has a new icon!
I have enclosed a sample of new Project icons for your consideration. Please vote and post which icon you prefer.
This is simple and easy fix and shows that you care about Project that is extensively used by PM community.19 votes
Hi all —
Hope you love the new icon!
Maybe I missed it, but where does one see his assignments and can report upon completion (like My Tasks/Timesheet in Project)?17 votes
to improve the usability it would be good to be able to:
- Paste activity lists from excel.
- Copy by dragging like in project online
- Import plans from project online
In a complex Project with many tasks, subtasks and lots of different owners, we need the option to adapt the overview of tasks - e.g. by:
- user / assigned to me
- hide completed tasks (like in planner)13 votes
Ability to view Notes column in Grid View, so you can get a quick view of where the task is sitting or is blocked12 votes
Under the Board view add "Assigned to" under Group by - just like in Planner which uses the same board framework.11 votes
For “Group By Assigned To”, how would you expect the work to be split up for tasks that have multiple assignments?
1. The task shows up under every single person its assigned to. When one person finishes the task, the whole task gets complete. This mimics Planner.
2. The task shows up under every single person its assigned to. When one person finishes the task, a certain percentage of the task gets complete (if there are two assignees, then it would be 50% complete).
Thanks for this feedback!
In Project Online, I use finish to start +- x number of days and do not see this on Project for the Web. That's a major hindrance to using this version. I'd love to see this added as i usually use automatic tasks and assign FS dependencies on them.11 votes
Allow projects to be set in the relevant date format. It seems as if only US date format is available. That means in Australia dates are misinterpreted 12 days every month. It’s the same issue as planner. Date format needs to be considered for every MVP.11 votes
Australian date formats have been updated.
When working on projects, users like to give feedback right in a task / column. Would be nice having a column in the grid view to see comments on a task11 votes
Automatically create an Azure DevOps Project when a Project for the Web project is created.
Ability to setup how each task should create Workitems in DevOps.11 votes
There should be a way to include costs per resource, task, subtask, hourly rate etc to being for budgeting and offering purposes.11 votes
Wouldn't it be great if all our various team members could track-time via a mobile app that then integrated with MS Project to show actual time worked on tasks!
We'd learn really fast lessons about our estimating accuracy that would help us improve double-quick.10 votes
