You can now create local custom fields for your tasks!

Under the “Add Column” button in the grid, you’ll find a new menu option to create a New Field. Click it!

    - Add dates, numbers, text, and flags to help you organize your work
-Filter tasks by the contents of your fields
-If you have limited screen real estate, edit the values for fields in the task details pane

  2. Teams Integration

Similar to Planner's integration. Having a site part that points is not good enough.

  3. Project for the Web is not available for Education customers.

Not including Education customers who have A3/5 or Project-specific SKUs for Project for the Web is a big miss. Aside from cost, what are the barriers for switching this on for Education?

    • Project Plan 5 for faculty

    Hope this helps!

This is now available. To use, search for the Roadmap app in Teams. We also have a Project app for viewing the project schedule. All Office 365 users will have read-only access to any project/roadmap shared with them so add your project/roadmap to Teams to help the team collaborate.

  5. Manual mode tasks

Please allow tasks to be scheduled in “manual mode” allowing for Project Managers to define start and finish date without auto calculating the effort.

    Hi everyone!

Today, we added improved Roadmap zooming! If you go to your Roadmap, you’ll be able to zoom out to multiple stops and views, and as far out as 6 years!

Thank you for everyone who shared their feedback and scenarios – please let us know what you think.

  7. Agile boards

The new agile features added to Project are good for planning. Key aspect of agile is communication in teammembers, so access to the plan/boards for team is very important.
It can be sufficient just display the boards in project site or in PWA.

    Hi everyone!

We’ve heard your ask for boards, and we understand that its an important way to work.

We just launched the new Project, with a redesigned user experience that is simple and intuitive. Teams can quickly add new members and set up tasks, and then easily switch between grids, boards, or timeline (Gantt) charts to track progress.

  8. Project for the web : Tasks effort not linked to duration

We should be able to specify a effort on a tasks that is less than a working day without affecting the duration.

Example : I have a resource on my project that is shared with other teams. I only have him/her 2 hours a day, and this time for 10 working days is enough to complete the task. So I want to have a task with 10 working days duration with a total effort of 20 hours.

In the current state, if I indicate the duration, it will automatically change the effort to a full day work (80 hours), if…

  9. Project for the web - Copy Project

I'm at a conference, and customers are interested in Project for the web. However, they are adamant that it have both (a) templates for starting projects, and (b) the ability to copy an existing project to a new one. With those features, they may be interested in trying it.

    Hi everyone!

You can now access “Copy Project” by going into a project, clicking on the title to open the details pane, hitting the “…” in the top corner, and then the Copy command.

  10. Project "Home" better compatibility with multiple PWA sites

The new Project Home concept looks a good start (from Brian Smith's recent post) but there are a few things that could do with some refinement for those customers with multiple Project Web App sites as some of our customers do.

The list of recent projects could with some metadata to describe the container site of the project (maybe the EPT would suffice here but no reason why this couldn't be the site description)

the New Project directing to the /PWA site is gong to be awkward when /PWA is used simply as a landing page (which has been our…

    Hi everyone!

We listened and agreed with your feedback on Project Home to be more compatible with the right PWA sites, so we committed and released a capability where Project Home users can now change the default PWA site to their preferred PWA site. This allows Project Home users to control the creation location of new Project Online projects, and to navigate more easily to desired PWA sites from Project Home.

You can learn more about how to use this feature here: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Project-Blog/Change-Your-Default-PWA-Site-for-Project-Home/ba-p/353439

This feature will rollout to tenants gradually over a period of time. Please let us know if there are any questions or comments, we’re actively listening to you all.

  11. Roadmap to add project summary task

When adding items to a row, Roadmap does not allow adding project summary row. This would be good feature because Roadmap can show start and end of project.

  12. Project for the web - Keep column width

Project for the web - when I adjust column widths it would be useful if those adjustments remained consistent the next time I went into Project for the web. This would be especially useful when framing Project for the web in Teams because of the limited screen space.

  13. Group by assigned to

Under the Board view add "Assigned to" under Group by - just like in Planner which uses the same board framework.

  14. Update Icon for Project

Although it is more of a cosmetic improvement, updating the Project icon to the new modern look would go a long way to help reinforce that Project is still moving forward just like the rest of the O365 apps and not stuck in some forgotten junk pile.

Heck, even Planner has a new icon!

I have enclosed a sample of new Project icons for your consideration. Please vote and post which icon you prefer.

This is simple and easy fix and shows that you care about Project that is extensively used by PM community.

  15. Project as a tab in Teams: Do not require license for viewing

When adding a tab in Teams for Project, many stakeholders are interested in viewing the plan, but it is very impractical to have to manage licenses for a potentially large group of people who just want to take a quick look.

Therefore, it should be default that anybody with an Office365 license should be able to just look at plans. For those who have assigned tasks, the current licensing structure is fine.

  16. Roadmap to lock or save zoom filter

The Roadmap zoom filter always returns to weekly views. The zoom should maintain or lock the last zoom settings. Each time I return to Dashboard, I must reset my zoom to see a full year.

  17. Collapse tasks at the summary level

I like PfW a lot but I run projects that have a lot of phases and then sub-tasks. I would like to be able to open my project with the Summary Tasks (or phases) collapsed - this is the main reason I have stopped using Project for the Web. Every time I re-open it all my Summary Tasks are expanded so I have to start by collapsing all the ones that are complete just to get a focused few of a particular section.

I couldn't find this as an existing request, if it is already somewhere else please let me…

  18. Milestones in Project for the web

It would be great if there was the possibility to create milestones in project for the web. These should be marked with a special symbol so that everyone can see them at a glance (e.g. in the grid view or timeline).

We pitched the new project software in our company but our employees see milestones as a necessary feature, so we can‘t go live yet.

  19. Where are the online video tutorials for Project? It's 2019, it's all about video!

I don't want to download your stupid PDF to figure out how to use your product. I want a video that shows me quickly how to setup my project. This is like basic 101 product training, why don't you guys have it?

  20. Create a 'Home' button in the Roadmap page

When navigating on an existing roadmap, the only way to go back to the Project Home page is to either use the app launcher or to type the 'project.microsoft.com' in the browser. It would be nice if we had a 'Home' button in the roadmap page so we could easily get back to the starting point page to see other roadmaps and projects.
