Roadmap & Project export
Exporting/printing a roadmap and/or project
Thank you for your feedback on this feature!
Export Timeline to PDF is now available to all Project for the web users. You can export your timeline by going to the Timeline tab and clicking on the ‘…’ menu in the top right corner. This menu has an option to export your timeline.
We would love to hear what you think about this new feature!

The workaround mentioned above is for users in the same organization though, we really need the export to communication the roadmap with external users. What is the ETA for this?
Dynamics can create a spreadsheet of exported project tasks but there's no Import function for P4W when using the dynamics portal.
My requirement, is to be able to export project tasks and all associated data weekly, in the rare instance that my data becomes compromised, I can use one of the exports to re-populate project for web following worse case scenario (all data loss).
Share Project and Export file
We need a way to export the project file or to share the project with other group of the company just to give them feedback.
Not sure if I have "Project for Web" or "Project Online", how can I tell - can't find help or tutorials?
I worked with Project decades ago, fully expected this to be able to show critical path, and print. Will either Web or Online print?
I have a project which started in Oct and I not able to zoom to see all the timeline. Please increase the zoom levels. Also can we have the ability to change the colours in the timeline bars please and an option to print the whole timeline onto an A4/A3
So I took a Project for the Web trial in my personal capacity and build a plan. Now our organisation wants to purchase licenses. But I have to apparently start over, as there is no way to transfer my work between O365 instances. Can this be true...no way to export at all?
A big part of my job is to present to management -- and it looks like there is no way to print a great view of a ghantt chart from project now? Guys, this is not professional and we need a way to export a polished view to use in print-outs, presentations etc. Re-thinking if my team should be using microsoft project if there is no way to do this
Organizing a project with multiple buckets and subtasks is critical to Project Management but as any good PM knows, there is always a need to be able to print and share the schedule with other team member and clients that may or may not have access to the online system.
This is a show stopper for many of our PMs and thus the system sits dormant because the effort to take the information and print it elsewhere is unproductive and a poor ROI.

it would be so good if you could shrink the time line veiw to page size for a print out
It's a print-to-pdf / excel export button ... Getting impatient here!!
WHERE IS THIS FEATURE
You can learn more about that here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/project-for-the-web/office-365-user-view-access-to-project-and-roadmap
How do you enable and share this with a non-project licensed user?
On January 23 2019, Andrew stated "We have started work on this and will be supporting an export to excel feature along with an export to pdf feature for projects". It's August 25 2020, and that functionality still does not exist. I just wasted several hours building a project in Project for the Web, only to find I can't export it to Excel OR EVEN PROJECT ONLINE. GAHHHHH!
I share the same feelings, I assumed that Microsoft would have some type of export option, so I spent all my time building the plan with Project online only to learn that I have to abandon this platform and we signed up for the Monday service so we can export to Excel and Share more easily. I am surprised this was not part of the MVP.
I need to be able to share this with my clients who don't have O365. Given it's a £22 month license, I'm very disappointed in the lack of features that are offered. To my understanding, I can even export it to a MS PPT or DOC file. At the very least, we should be able to provide a link to a person without a license/O365.
Absolutely agree on this. I need those functions all. Please let me use all of them. Anyway, I am a big fan of MS .
It is hard to over stress how important this is. Every project I've worked on in the last 20 years I've been able to capture the timeline and share this with other people in presentations or reports. I am now reduced to a screen shot of a small part of the plan, it's pretty poor.
This is garbage. Honestly what is the point it you aren't able to export to excel or pdf. Have been trying to figure this out for hours then read the comments. Very disappointed.
I need to be able to share the project with other users. Need to be able to print or pdf it. I don't understand the read only ability you talk about - how do they see it?
This would be really useful for multiple use cases. 1) For adhoc or reporting requests, can incorporate exported data in Powerpoint, Excel, etc. and data can edited to recreate preferred graphic views. I know there is an automatic PBI link, but other integration with MS products would be great
2) Backup online Project can be saved as a "full working file [even if not readable unless imported back to Project Online]" to Sharepoint, teams, etc.) - would give me peace of mind since there is no backup, save feature. If there was a glitch with our internal company Project settings, feels like all my files would disappear.
