Roadmap & Project export
Exporting/printing a roadmap and/or project
Thank you for your feedback on this feature!
Export Timeline to PDF is now available to all Project for the web users. You can export your timeline by going to the Timeline tab and clicking on the ‘…’ menu in the top right corner. This menu has an option to export your timeline.
We would love to hear what you think about this new feature!

For instance, the resources available on the web version are much more limited than the desktop version. I like the flexibility of the web, but sometimes I need some resource not available and it would be good to have the project I am working on available for work on the desktop version of Microsoft Project. I believe that when we have feature parity this will not be necessary, but for now it is.
To export on a CSV spreadsheet is important because sometimes you need to share the content of the project with a customer,or on a meeting, and not everyone have access to Project. So it is necessary to share in a format that everyone has access, like CSV, PDF, etc.
This is essential for my organisations PMO. I've had to pull back on implementing Project for the Web because of the lack of export facilities

In our organization every PM is allowed to use the tool of his/her preference, hence we need to export to different project-management-software formats and excel format. Reporting is also done in Excel templates, hence we need to export data, sometimes a part of the schedule, sometime all of it.
export to PDF is really important for sharing progress at project governance groups
How can I print my project?

I am using Project Plan 1 to manage projects on my Mac. It would be very helpful if Project would allow me to print and change parameters within itself. Simply using the browser’s print function does not suffice
Please at least allow the ability to export to excel or PDF. It would be super helpful to be able to send a roadmap to senior stakeholders in a format other than a screenshot!

Could not agree more. Since one of the primary uses for roadmaps is external reporting/briefing, it seems the ability to print or export the roadmap should have been part of the MVP or at least high priority for the next release.
The admin's Follow Up comment to Scenario 2 to screenshot and paste does not work for any roadmap larger than one screen. Most roadmaps that include more than a handful of rows with connected projects and extend more than a year in duration will be too large to view on one screen.

Need to be able to print the timeline view in Project For The Web.
Has to be a read only feature, that do not require a project license. Use case is .
1. generate the roadmap (me)
2. send link to management
3. Management can open roadmap, zoom, scroll and eventually print
Screenshots will definetely not work as our roadmap can easily cover 3 years which will require stiching of 10+ screen shots
Nice if I can maintain datavalidity by using realtime data for the viewer feature but an export featute will be acceptable.

Export to XML/JSON would allow import into other tools. If this is based on CDS, isn't this already possible today?
It would be very helpful to have the ability to export project for the web plans to PDF and excel, in the same way that you can do in the desktop application

This is a big one for me too. In general, it is hard to share the projects if it isn't with another user online. It would be nice to have ways of getting it project pro, excel, csv, pdf, ect like Hrvoje Kusulja commented.

If you have a Power Bi license, you can connect the data through Power BI, publish it, and then export the report tabs to PowerPoint, PDF, or Print. I think this is the recommended path for the time being until they have more capabilities added to Project on the Web.

Hello, this can be built using the APIs Project Online provides - https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Project/Exporting-timesheet-data-billable-time-into-other-database-in/m-p/1061243

For this to be usable in our organisation, we would need to be able to export it to clients, for offline use. Whether it being version control, as a part of a official offer or the like, we cannot be dependant on being online.
I really hope this will be implemented soon.

Desperately need both scenarios. Any updates?
It would be really good if you can extract Project online to an excel or PDF document so that it can be shared with others who dont have the access to project online

Provide an easy ability to export completed time sheet data (billed hours) to allow easy export / import into other systems for billing purposes

So after thinking hard about this for half a year, what is the status?
