Project for the web: Add existing Planner capabilities (e.g. document attachments, checklists, priority)
Add existing Planner capabilities to the task details of Project for the Web (e.g. document attachments, checklists, priority, comments). Also @mentioning as new feature would be great.
We really appreciate your feedback about this topic.
Everyone now has the ability to add attachments to tasks in Project for the web!
We are also looking into bringing other Planner features into Project for the web. Please keep letting us know what you would like to see.
We need the ability to integrate Project for the Web and MS Planner. The Project for the Web M365 Group integration is great, we can assign tasks to members; however if they do not have a Project license (thousands of standard non PM users) they can not update these assigned tasks. They would need to be able to view and update the tasks in Project without a project license, or we need to be able to have Project planner tasks assigned to users, viewable and editable for them in MS Planner. Otherwise, we assign tasks to users but they can never update them.
The ability to use the comments in planner is great. We would really like to have that ability (also with the ability to edit / delete a comment) in the Project for the web tool.
I want to see a dashboard, like the "Chart" tab in planner. This would help put it on par with smartsheets, its very frustrating that my business users keep pushing smartsheets when we have a significant investment with MS.
Checklist and Labels would be great to help organize the tasks.
Checklists would be great and on some projects would be a short term workaround to the 500 task limitation
How far along is the integration? Adding priority would be really valuable!
Can we get an update on this? Of the features listed, adding labels and timestamped comments is the top of my list!
I second Geza's comment. Critical that tasks assigned in a Project is added to the same "my tasks" summary that shows all tasks from Planner. Some teams use Planner and some use Projects, but the summary/collective overview needs to pull data from both.
We need the My tasks view implemented in Project in a similar way. Being able to bring both Planner and Project tasks together for the same person would be a really critical feature for personal and team productivty.
We want the the ability to submit comments on tasks. I want to be able to tell my team members that I expect them to journal an update on their assigned tasks at least once per week (by typing a comment and hitting "send"). This way we don't risk losing past comments. Typing comments in the notes field is an okay workaround, but it really would be best if each task had its own comment thread.
We also want a "deadline" field in Project for the Web that behaves similarly to the deadline field in Microsoft Project Professional (indicator displays if task goes past it's deadline date) as a result of upstream scheduling changes.
Yes threaded comments are a must, also the ability to have a status field or even tags. Tasks should integrate with To Do
The possibility to add checklists to tasks and to comment on the checklist items would make the Project for the Web more useful.
Threaded comments are a must-have in today's collaborative world! Useful in Planner, would be even more useful in Project!!! We'd switch from Smartsheet to Project if this could be done.

Calendar/Schedule view like Planner would be very useful.

Checklist and comment, very usefull features to be able to follow upp progress of tasks
Checklist feature and flags/tags are critical

Enabling attachments are really valuable when collaborating. Thanks.
I'm still looking forward to having the Checklist included. It will ensure that you don't add a lot of sub-task which works well in the Grid but doesn't work at all in the Board.
We are doing resource planning in Power BI. It works very well.
Drawback is that you don't get live information when making a plan for the individual resource you are trying to add.
Thank you for this update! I second so many other commenters before me, we would like to see the attachments synch with MS Teams/SharePoint so we can just collect all docs/project. Thanks for your work. Best, F.

Will you ever get there?
The whole portfolio of products seems so fragmented and it's such a shame as you are clearly demonstrating you have all of the prerequisite parts for amazing applications but MS seem to launch new products like a splatter gun and then never tidy anything up.
Planner has got really good but missing some key things to make it usable for a team but that's not an issue as it's 'free'. P4W should be a step up from Planner but it seems like a half baked side step. It should be Planner Pro or whatever.
I've been waiting for a long time now for MS to get this sorted as it could be insane with all the power of automation using the other products. However, currently i'm being pushed over to 3rd party apps which is not what I want.
To make this usable I need:
1. MS To do integration so my team can clearly see their tasks without too much interaction with their manager (Exactly as Planner)
2. My users don't appear to be able to mark tasks as complete within P4W unless operating with a Project Plan license. Is this correct? (They can in planner)
3. Resource capacity planning or at least an option to view resource workload without having to open Power BI.
The other things which would be great but not essential for me are attachments, comments, checklists.
The above clearly comes from a place of frustration and for that i'm sorry but there just seems to be some disconnect with what MS's strategy is with these products. I 'm guessing P4W ultimate aim is to replace Project Online but I think you're doing more damage by launching this product with such limited capability. You'd have been better continuing to polish Planner with really robust but basic features, keeping Project Online for the more heavy duty users and then launching P4W when it was decent and able to compete in the market place. I really wish for the day when all of Microsoft 365 sings together because it will be unbeatable but will that day ever come?
Can we have an update? Thanks
