Project for the web : Tasks effort not linked to duration
We should be able to specify a effort on a tasks that is less than a working day without affecting the duration.
Example : I have a resource on my project that is shared with other teams. I only have him/her 2 hours a day, and this time for 10 working days is enough to complete the task. So I want to have a task with 10 working days duration with a total effort of 20 hours.
In the current state, if I indicate the duration, it will automatically change the effort to a full day work (80 hours), if I change the effort it will adjust the end date and the duration to the number of full day work it represents.
I love the product but this (and the resource management) are a big stopper for now.
We are working on unlinking duration & effort – we’ll keep you posted on when this work is complete!

Any update on progress of this feature? Thanks.

Probably, this is currently bug.
you should be able to have this scenario on task:
- effot total: 6 hours
- effort completed: 2 hours
- effort remaind: 4 hours
- duration: 15 hours
currently duration is linked to effort total, which is nonsense :P
I saw in the early tests that some tasks I've made had a effort value different for the duration, but I can't reproduce it. Is it something only I have? Is it a bug? If someone have the same issue, please let us know :)
