Allow more than 500 Tasks in a Project
Project is not allowing a project to include more than 500 project tasks. There does not seem to be published documentation of a limit to the number of tasks.

This is road blocker issue for us. We have 1000+ tasks in project for various business unit. Please increase the limit to 2,000 or more.

How is it possible that you can only add 500 tasks? Is this 1990s? Windows 95 type of software? Please extend the number of tasks!

500 is too limiting for an enterprise project. My projects don't always exceed 500 tasks, but I certainly have a few that do

Max 500 tasks for a max duration of 10 years so 50 tasks/year max, so less than 1 task per week... Oh, but wait we can allocate 20 resources to this weekly task, success guaranteed!
Guys where's your head at when you put this kind of limitations?
Needs to be unlocked asap if we want to sell it to serious customers. -

We use Smartsheet and would love to switch over to Project Online, but limiting us to only 500 tasks is not acceptable. Project Online needs to support at least 1,000 tasks and preferably 2,000 per project in order for us to justify the move. Please consider this. Thx

I agree with this request. I would love to use Project for Web, particularly to enable co-authoring, but the 500 task limit prevents us from doing so due to the complexity of Gantt charts that we manage - frequently several hundred. Could we raise the limit to a more reasonable number like 2000 tasks? That would cover 99% of our use cases and we can figure out how to break up and connect large Gantts from there. As an example, your competitor SmartSheets has a 5000 row limitation.

I support this idea. We are thinking about using one Project for the entire organisation, so that everyone is aligned and not working in siloes. However, having a limit of 500 tasks make this idea a non-starter. I guess there are performance trade-offs, but please consider. The same applies to the maximum amount of resources of 150. I guess we'll have to aggregate our projects to get to a single view (in Power BI), but that will require discipline in terms of naming convention and may not be practical.

You are correct that the limit is 500. You can find all the limits for Project for the web at the bottom of this article - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office365/servicedescriptions/project-online-service-description/project-online-service-description
Thanks!
