    Hi everyone!

Thanks for all of your feedback and votes on this. We are planning to build custom fields so you can work with even more flexibility in your projects!

Feel free to continue to give feedback on how you would use custom fields, and what information you’d put in them.

    Thank you!

  2. Project for the Web is not available for Education customers.

Not including Education customers who have A3/5 or Project-specific SKUs for Project for the Web is a big miss. Aside from cost, what are the barriers for switching this on for Education?

  3. Project for the web: Add existing Planner capabilities (e.g. document attachments, checklists, priority)

Add existing Planner capabilities to the task details of Project for the Web (e.g. document attachments, checklists, priority, comments). Also @mentioning as new feature would be great.

    Hi everyone!

We agree with you here! This is something we want to do — and we’ll keep you updated here on it.

Is there anything you don’t like about the capabilities? Where do you think it can be improved? Which features do you need most to be most successful from Planner that don’t exist in Project yet?

    Thanks!
    ~J

  4. Add templates to project for the web

When creating a new project we don't want to start from scratch each time. We should be able to select a type of project (or an existing one) and use that as a starting point.

    Hi everyone!

We understand the need and ask for templates. We will be starting with a Copy Project feature, and continue to think about template scenarios. This is not a one or the other scenario!

Please continue to share your template scenarios, and we will keep you posted.

See here for Copy Project: https://microsoftproject.uservoice.com/forums/914203-project-for-the-web/suggestions/38956756-project-for-the-web-copy-project

  5. Roadmap export

I'd like the ability to export or print a roadmap to PDF to make it easier to share for status reporting with non-Project users.

Hi everyone! Thanks for the feedback again.

I’ve broken this down into two general scenario requests and have some more questions.

Scenario 1) I want to share my Roadmap with a stakeholder but I don’t want them to have editing capabilities, or they might not even have a Project license. Follow ups – is this RO stakeholder a part of the team/group in the Roadmap?

Scenario 2) I want to export or print to share or present the Roadmap with (possibly outside) stakeholders (whether this is in PPT presentation or a physical printout). Follow ups – why not screenshot the view and put it in PPT or then print?

Thanks for your inputs!! We’re listening and thinking hard about your scenarios.

  6. Two way integration with microsoft planner and Microsoft projects

Have full in depth integration between microsoft planned and Project to ensure the reach is greater and not limitted to the Project environment, Ideally it should also link to PWA and the full Microsoft Projects.

Hi everyone – thanks for the feedback so far. In regards to Planner & Project for the web, we are definitely listening to these scenarios and thinking about how to improve them!

Would helping import from Planner to Project be helpful in this case, and enabling teams to work in Project?

I read a lot of comments on making sure we can leverage full Planner capabilities in Project, team members being able to see and complete their task, and not wanting to “re-write” and “move” tasks over. Are these the most important scenarios for us when thinking about this area?

  7. Manual mode tasks

Please allow tasks to be scheduled in “manual mode” allowing for Project Managers to define start and finish date without auto calculating the effort.

    Hi everyone,

Just adding an update here. Although we don’t have a specific timeline, this is something that is on our backlog and hope to have more updates soon. We will be building an integrated Teams native tab experience.

The status is also “Planned” for Project for the Web projects as well – you can vote/check on that here: https://microsoftproject.uservoice.com/forums/914203-project-for-the-web/suggestions/38926648-teams-integration

  9. Project for the web: Change licensing to allow for extensibility at a sensible price

Currently extending Project for the Web with the Power Platform requires a Project Plan P3/P5 subscription. This very expensive given that you already have to pay for a PowerApps subscription as well. This is especially drastic if you need to provide access for team members. Their numbers are normally much higher than the PMs.

As a workaround for now, you can add a website tab & paste the project URL into Teams.

    Hi everyone!

Today, we added improved Roadmap zooming! If you go to your Roadmap, you’ll be able to zoom out to multiple stops and views, and as far out as 6 years!

Thank you for everyone who shared their feedback and scenarios – please let us know what you think.

  12. Resource Management

We need to be able to plan resources within project for the web and the ability to get an overview over all projects in our portfolio including a view if someone is overbooked etc.

    Hi everyone!

This is something we’re thinking about – but we’d love more feedback from you.

Can you share specific scenarios that you need for resourcing? What information do you need to be successful? What actions do you take as a result of this information?

Please share detailed scenarios for us to understand what you need, this will be very helpful to us as we improve Project!

  13. Agile boards

The new agile features added to Project are good for planning. Key aspect of agile is communication in teammembers, so access to the plan/boards for team is very important.
It can be sufficient just display the boards in project site or in PWA.

    Hi everyone!

We’ve heard your ask for boards, and we understand that its an important way to work.

We just launched the new Project, with a redesigned user experience that is simple and intuitive. Teams can quickly add new members and set up tasks, and then easily switch between grids, boards, or timeline (Gantt) charts to track progress.

  15. Saving Baseline (Project for the Web)

One of the biggest advantages of the MS Project (and Project Online) to the other compactor products in web based platforms is the possibility of having Baselines. Without a Baseline controlling the plan and having Planned vs Actual stats wouldn't be easy.
Please add the option of saving baseline on any given status of the plan without overwriting them so w can compare current status with multiple baselines.

    Hi everyone!

Thanks for the feedback on baselines. I’d love to hear more, and get a discussion going to understand the needs and usage here.

What’s the most important set of information in a baseline? How often do you take baselines? How often do you compare baselines?

For those of you who have not previously used the desktop client or Project Online, how have you been tracking baselines on your projects?

    Thanks!

  16. Guest access to projects

Often there are external users from customers or freelance involved which should have access to a project or roadmap as well without the need of having a project license. This is possible in other project management solutions!

  17. Import mpp file into MS project Web

It would be great to have a Button to Import mpp file into MS project Web.
We usually use MS Project client (mpp file) to plan and monitor the project, and we can't even copy and paste MS fields to MS project web or upload the file directly. We have to replicate everything we have on the MS project Client by hand to MS project Web! That doesn't make sense at all!

    Hi everyone!

Thanks for the votes, we’re definitely thinking about this one. If we had an import to Project button, would this improve your experience in the Web? Would you be able to be successful managing your projects purely in the web? If not, why not? If you would still need the client, why?

    Thank you!

  18. Project "Home" better compatibility with multiple PWA sites

The new Project Home concept looks a good start (from Brian Smith's recent post) but there are a few things that could do with some refinement for those customers with multiple Project Web App sites as some of our customers do.

The list of recent projects could with some metadata to describe the container site of the project (maybe the EPT would suffice here but no reason why this couldn't be the site description)

the New Project directing to the /PWA site is gong to be awkward when /PWA is used simply as a landing page (which has been our…

    Hi everyone!

We listened and agreed with your feedback on Project Home to be more compatible with the right PWA sites, so we committed and released a capability where Project Home users can now change the default PWA site to their preferred PWA site. This allows Project Home users to control the creation location of new Project Online projects, and to navigate more easily to desired PWA sites from Project Home.

You can learn more about how to use this feature here: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Project-Blog/Change-Your-Default-PWA-Site-for-Project-Home/ba-p/353439

This feature will rollout to tenants gradually over a period of time. Please let us know if there are any questions or comments, we’re actively listening to you all.

    Hi everyone!

I’d like to understand why you need to edit the schedule in the desktop app, versus just in the web? What key components can be improved for you to work in the web, without needing the client?

If we provided an import from .mpp to the web, would you be able to be successful managing your project in the web? If no, why not?

Thank you! We love hearing your feedback.

  20. Project for the web : Tasks effort not linked to duration

We should be able to specify a effort on a tasks that is less than a working day without affecting the duration.

Example : I have a resource on my project that is shared with other teams. I only have him/her 2 hours a day, and this time for 10 working days is enough to complete the task. So I want to have a task with 10 working days duration with a total effort of 20 hours.

In the current state, if I indicate the duration, it will automatically change the effort to a full day work (80 hours), if…
