  1. Project Home - Create New -EPT control

The tiles under Create New Project are for all EPTs and methods - including ones our organization cannot support & that cause data to be created and stored outside of our enterprise resource environment.

Please allow configuration of the tiles that appear under Create New, or at the least allow EPTs to be deactivated in PWA.

Thanks for the suggestion. It looks like you are using a custom pwa site and the create new project button is redirecting users to the default pwa site which has some epts present.

If that is the case, we are providing support for non-default sites and with that this problem should go away.

Do let us know more on this?

  2. Allow adding (Custom) fields to Roadmap

I would like the option to add more information from a Project Online environment (or others). This could/should be configured per PWA or Per Roadmap (I'm not sure which is better).

On some PWA's we use different Start / Finish dates that should be used instead of the default Start / Finish.

There are also fields that have added value to see on a Roadmap. I would suggest that this shows up as a tooltip / pop up when hovering over a task in roadmap.

Additionally some added data from the Project level (custom) fields would be useful. Such as…

  3. Ability to publish Roadmap to Sharepoint site

It would be highly useful for a web part which links to Roadmap, allowing for the ability to publish a Read-Only version of the Roadmap to a Sharepoint site. This would specifically be useful for giving the high level management or executive team view to how projects are tracking.

  4. Roadmap: Keep associated Flow names in sync with roadmap name changes

If you set up a roadmap and link to a Project / Board without the Roadmap name being updated from "Untitled Roadmap", the Flow name is "Untitled roadmap - {row name} - {GUID}". When you then set a Roadmap name or even later change the name, you can't tell which Flows are associated to which Roadmaps. Can the Flow names be kept in sync with the Roadmap names? Maybe even prefix all Flow names with "Roadmap: {Roadmap Name} - {row name} - {GUID}" so that all the Roadmap Flows are clearly identifiable?

  6. More Interactive Capabilities with Project Tasks

This may have been covered somewhere else, but it would be nice to interact with a Project task with threaded comments, a way to link to a SharePoint online document rather than attaching a document, @mentions in task comments, #hashtags for tagging projects with attributes, tying into the Outlook calendar for resourcing (i.e. if someone's calendar is marked Out of Office that the resource calendar picks that up (maybe this is already the case), ability to set reminders on tasks based on certain criteria, conditional formatting. I don't mean to mention other products here, but a mashup between how Smarsheet…

    Hi Megan!

This is wonderful feedback, and a direction we are planning/headed in. We’d love more details from you and others to see what type of interactive capabilities are most crucial to see to be more successful with Project.

Thanks for sharing, feel free to ad more comments as they come up.

  8. Better Integration with O365

Would like to see better integration between PWA and the O365 suite. For example. I want to see all my PWA sites in Outlook similar to how I see Groups today. I want to be able to link a Team to a PWA site, or create a team with a PWA site. I want to be able to see all project tasks assigned to me in Outlook and ToDo.

  9. Viewing multiple projects and roadmaps in one overview/page/tab including adding dependencies between them.

Have the ability to view multiple projects and roadmaps in one overview including adding dependencies between them
For our organisation we use multiple projects and roadmaps for different projects but they DO have dependencies between them. It would be perfect to be able to view them all in one overview/screen and see the dependencies between them instead of having to remind them/flag them all the time. This would make the life of our product owner so much better.

If this could be shared through Teams as well that would make it even better.

Thanks in advance for looking into this.

  10. Enable the Recent project list and cards to be configurable + sorting

Enable the Recent project list and favorites cards to be configurable to show more data. As Project Home works across multiple PWA instances, each with potentially different configuration, allowing up a fixed number of intrinsic fields would be good. Maybe up to 5 additional intrinsic fields. Then enable sorting on the Recent project list using the column headers. Also provide the ability to sort the favorites cards too using the data displayed on the cards.

  11. Project Online reporting data replication to Azure SQL DB

As SSRS is still the king of operational reporting it is quite important to bring the Project Online Data to a SQL Server DB, currently, the way to do it is either through SSIS ETL packages which are error-prone or custom solutions which require quite a bit of development and maintenance. If data from reporting schema objects can be synced to an Azure SQL DB, this will provide a very seamless mechanism to solve this problem. Dynamics 365 also provides a similar service

  12. Read-only permission for Roadmaps

Currently everyone that has access to a roadmap can modify everything. Normally one would use a roadmap also to provide information to stakeholders. These shouldn't be able to modify the roadmap. Therefore read-only permissions would be helpful.

  13. Directly import the project timeline into Roadmap

PM's already create a timeline in their schedule with the most important schedule items. It would be very useful and saving a lot of time to import a timeline in stead of all task separately.

  14. Shamsi Calendar in MSP 2019

    Shamsi Calendar in MSP 2019
    Hi there,
Would you please answer this question?
I was wondering that if Jalali Calendar (other names: Persian/Solar/Shamsi calendar) is added to Microsoft Project 2019.

Microsoft has already added Shamsi Calendar into Windows 10 and Excell 2016 ; but it was not added to MSP 2016

    Regards

P.S.: I mean calendars in the following directory: File menu > Options > Display > Calendar > Calendar Type

  15. Show all items from a project when adding to Roadmap

When we try to add items from a project, it is cumbersome to ‘search’ for something specific.

It would be nice to have the list show up with multiselect- checkboxes, so that multiple items can be added easily.

It would be awesome to have the 'Outline' feature from the schedule available so that the lists can be expanded or collapsed.

And finally, ability to connect to a specific view from schedule webpart will allow admins to build several views that might just be milestones/summary tasks etc.,

  18. Indicate if a task/milestone is added to Roadmap within PWA

"Add to Roadmap" command in PWA is a cool way to add tasks and milestones to row items in Roadmap. Yet, when the user tries to add the task/milestone that is already part of the row item in a Roadmap, PWA should warn or prevent me from not doing so.

  20. Roadmap: When searching items to add, show additional details in the search results

Show additional data in the search results for items you want to add. Today all you get is the task names that match. This isn't useful if you have lots of tasks with the same names. Include the task start and / or finish dates in the search results so you can see work out which task you want to add without guessing. You can only tell you guessed correctly / incorrectly when you select the task from the results then see details in the selected tasks table.
