    Hi everyone!

I’d like to understand why you need to edit the schedule in the desktop app, versus just in the web? What key components can be improved for you to work in the web, without needing the client?

If we provided an import from .mpp to the web, would you be able to be successful managing your project in the web? If no, why not?

Thank you! We love hearing your feedback.

    Hi everyone!

Thanks for the feedback on baselines. I’d love to hear more, and get a discussion going to understand the needs and usage here.

What’s the most important set of information in a baseline? How often do you take baselines? How often do you compare baselines?

For those of you who have not previously used the desktop client or Project Online, how have you been tracking baselines on your projects?

    Thanks!
    ~J

We set a baseline of major milestones that were approved by a governance committee. We then have a report that compares the baseline to the current plan, and if there is a variance of >3 months for any major milestone, we have to notify the governing body of the change, and, if endorsed, we then set a new baseline.

Therefore, we need multiple baselines, each one having a custom name and datestamp.

Even with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, the desktop version has functions and capabilities that do not and will never exist on the web version. This will likely be the same for P4W and Project Desktop. Unless there is full parity, professional project managers need the desktop version.

I want full interoperability between cloud and desktop, same as with the other office products. In Project Desktop app, a "Publish to P4W" button would push data into the cloud. In P4W, "Import from File" and "Export to File" options would upload and download from/to .mpp file format, and sync with saving in Project Desktop.

Hi everyone – thanks for the feedback so far. In regards to Planner & Project for the web, we are definitely listening to these scenarios and thinking about how to improve them!

Would helping import from Planner to Project be helpful in this case, and enabling teams to work in Project?

I read a lot of comments on making sure we can leverage full Planner capabilities in Project, team members being able to see and complete their task, and not wanting to “re-write” and “move” tasks over. Are these the most important scenarios for us when thinking about this area?

    Hi everyone!

This is something we’re thinking about – but we’d love more feedback from you.

Can you share specific scenarios that you need for resourcing? What information do you need to be successful? What actions do you take as a result of this information?

Please share detailed scenarios for us to understand what you need, this will be very helpful to us as we improve Project!

Totally need this for parity with MSP desktop. Many of my project plans contain only milestones, with lag times between them (eg, 1FS+10d) instead of adding another task with a duration.

    Hello everyone!

Thanks for your feedback! You can now customize and extend the Project app without purchasing additional Power Apps licenses, making it easier for your organization to tailor Project Plan 5, Project Plan 3, and Project Plan 1 to meet your business needs.

    Hi everyone!

Today, we added improved Roadmap zooming! If you go to your Roadmap, you’ll be able to zoom out to multiple stops and views, and as far out as 6 years!

Thank you for everyone who shared their feedback and scenarios – please let us know what you think.

Agree with other supporters that the 1 project task: 1 planner card sync is a much more valuable use case than the 1 project task: 1 planner board.

In my experience, MSProject is a Project Manager's tool for mapping out complex project plans, and Planner is simpler interface for team members to find their action items (they have a hard time navigating a Gantt chart to find what they need to do next). In addition, Planner has better integration with Word and PowerPoint files stored on SharePoint for collaborative authoring, which is the bulk of the projects for my team. Would be nice to use MSProject for creating and tracking a plan, and Planner for executing the plan with team members.

    Hi everyone -

The new Project is here …

Project offers a redesigned user experience that is simple and intuitive. Teams can quickly add new members and set up tasks, and then easily switch between grids, boards, or timeline (Gantt) charts to track progress. And because Project is part of the Microsoft 365 family, project teams can save time and do more with built-in connections to familiar apps like Microsoft Teams and Office.

This highlights the “modern” look and feel that has been requested.

I'd like to add an alias to each baseline to differentiate budget years (2017, 2018, etc).

It drives me nuts that I have to have a "print to pdf" program to be able to save a copy of a file that looks like the screen rendition. I should be able to do this straight from the Print button. Please MSP team, fix this??
