Hi everyone!
Thank you for your feedback. For now, you can use an API through Powershell to import .mpp files in Project for the web. You can learn more here: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/project-blog/import-project-desktop-files-to-project-for-the-web-api/ba-p/2031298
We are also looking into other ways to support import. Stay tuned for future updates.

Hello everyone!
Thank you for your feedback here. We are in the process of rolling out the ability to export your Project to Microsoft Excel.
This feature should be available to everyone by the end of this week.

For instance, the resources available on the web version are much more limited than the desktop version. I like the flexibility of the web, but sometimes I need some resource not available and it would be good to have the project I am working on available for work on the desktop version of Microsoft Project. I believe that when we have feature parity this will not be necessary, but for now it is.
To export on a CSV spreadsheet is important because sometimes you need to share the content of the project with a customer,or on a meeting, and not everyone have access to Project. So it is necessary to share in a format that everyone has access, like CSV, PDF, etc.

Hi everyone!
I have read through the comments, and we have a new update that may benefit some on this thread.
We have just announced that we are supporting read-only access for Projects & Roadmaps with an O365 license within a tenant. You can learn more here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/project-for-the-web/office-365-user-view-access-to-project-and-roadmap

Hi everyone!
Thanks for the feedback on baselines. I’d love to hear more, and get a discussion going to understand the needs and usage here.
What’s the most important set of information in a baseline? How often do you take baselines? How often do you compare baselines?
For those of you who have not previously used the desktop client or Project Online, how have you been tracking baselines on your projects?
Thanks!

Hi everyone!
I’d like to understand why you need to edit the schedule in the desktop app, versus just in the web? What key components can be improved for you to work in the web, without needing the client?
If we provided an import from .mpp to the web, would you be able to be successful managing your project in the web? If no, why not?
Thank you! We love hearing your feedback.

Hi everyone!
This is something we’re thinking about – but we’d love more feedback from you.
Can you share specific scenarios that you need for resourcing? What information do you need to be successful? What actions do you take as a result of this information?
Please share detailed scenarios for us to understand what you need, this will be very helpful to us as we improve Project!

Hi everyone!
I’m updating this to “partially complete” as we have finished rolling out the “Copy Project” feature. You can access this by opening a project, clicking on the title to open the details pane, hitting the “…” in the top corner, and then the Copy command.
You can get more details, tips and tricks here: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/project-blog/copying-projects-in-project-for-the-web/ba-p/1477766
We’re still thinking about the specific templates scenario and reading your comments below. Please try the feature out and let us know what other feedback/improvements can be made.

Having a template is important when dealing with a large number of projects, e.g., Portfolio Management. Having a template could allow Project Managers to establish standard rules and responsibles for each task (Project Analyst for tasks A, B and C, Project Manager for task D, H and L, Project Sponsor for task E, and so on). When importing a template, a Project Manager could be asked who will be filling these roles and the responsible for the task would be filled automatically.

Hi all!
For all new projects, you are now able to set Effort and Duration independently of each other for tasks with assignments. When Effort is set, Duration will not change.

Hi everyone!
Today, we added improved Roadmap zooming! If you go to your Roadmap, you’ll be able to zoom out to multiple stops and views, and as far out as 6 years!
Thank you for everyone who shared their feedback and scenarios – please let us know what you think.

I agree with Esteban Galindo. The best tool I have ever used for project management is all web-based (I used it in a previous company I worked for, but my current company uses Microsoft Project), it has the majority of features Microsoft Project desktop has, but people can work on a project at the same time. Unfortunately, this is impossible to do on the Microsoft Project for the web currently because it lacks many basic features.
Just in case you're wondering which tool I really like, it is Teamwork Projects. I wish Microsoft Project for the web had the same functionalities (such as grouping in Parent and child tasks; today, MS Project on the web does that, but if I reorder one parent, I loose the link with the child ones and have to move all of them one by one)..
