    Hi everyone!

Thanks for the feedback on baselines. I’d love to hear more, and get a discussion going to understand the needs and usage here.

What’s the most important set of information in a baseline? How often do you take baselines? How often do you compare baselines?

For those of you who have not previously used the desktop client or Project Online, how have you been tracking baselines on your projects?

    Thanks!
    ~J

    Hi,
We take a baseline two times in the life of a project, which are our two most important review and approval stage gates. We use those baselines every two weeks to compare our current schedule to the "committed one" and report accordingly. Most of the time comparisons are about dates only, but from time to time, there is a project in which we load all the resources information (people and money) and use the baseline also to find resources differences; this use of baselines, however, is not common for us and we use it only on very specific cases.

    Hi everyone!

I’d like to understand why you need to edit the schedule in the desktop app, versus just in the web? What key components can be improved for you to work in the web, without needing the client?

If we provided an import from .mpp to the web, would you be able to be successful managing your project in the web? If no, why not?

Thank you! We love hearing your feedback.

    Hi,
In my case, I would like to edit the schedule in my desktop to run different scenarios out of which I select the one to use and share, and for these scenarios I use tools that are only available on the desktop version or even on other tools (since WBS construction is no longer part of MS Project, for example) and in just a few cases, running analyses like Montecarlo simulations with a tool from other vendor.
Once scenarios and simulations are done, the selected plan would be imported to Web Project for sharing with the team and from that point on, use for monitoring and controlling the project.

    Hi,
Managing the project purely on Web would be fantastic, we would love to have the people actually doing the work moving their tasks from "in progress" to "done" and that be reflected on the Gantt. On the other side, I do not think in the short term we would be able to abandon the desktop client, in my case because I use it to run scenarios for the project in my computer out of which I select the one that would make more sense to use and share; doing all of this in a pure web environment I do not know have fast can be done, also, there are many tools on the desktop client that are not available on Web Project. On the long run, having all the tools in the Web version and a fast and stable interface, I would move to purely web with no concerns.

In our organization every PM is allowed to use the tool of his/her preference, hence we need to export to different project-management-software formats and excel format. Reporting is also done in Excel templates, hence we need to export data, sometimes a part of the schedule, sometime all of it.

    Hi everyone!

You might have noticed that you can filter by string on the Grid view. You can now filter on task names and assignees (check the top right corner of your projects!)

I’m marking this as partially complete, as I know there were many other asks here. Please continue sharing your needs and scenarios around filtering.

    Thank you!

    Hi everyone!

You can now access “Copy Project” by going into a project, clicking on the title to open the details pane, hitting the “…” in the top corner, and then the Copy command.

You can learn more about Copy Project and get Tips & Tricks here: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/project-blog/copying-projects-in-project-for-the-web/ba-p/1477766

Please let us know what you think and continue to share your feedback with us!

    Hi everyone!

This is something we’re thinking about – but we’d love more feedback from you.

Can you share specific scenarios that you need for resourcing? What information do you need to be successful? What actions do you take as a result of this information?

Please share detailed scenarios for us to understand what you need, this will be very helpful to us as we improve Project!

    Hello everyone!

Thanks for your feedback! You can now customize and extend the Project app without purchasing additional Power Apps licenses, making it easier for your organization to tailor Project Plan 5, Project Plan 3, and Project Plan 1 to meet your business needs.

Read more about this on our blog: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/project-blog/customizing-and-extending-the-project-app-just-became-more/ba-p/1878008

Hi everyone – thanks for the feedback so far. In regards to Planner & Project for the web, we are definitely listening to these scenarios and thinking about how to improve them!

Would helping import from Planner to Project be helpful in this case, and enabling teams to work in Project?

I read a lot of comments on making sure we can leverage full Planner capabilities in Project, team members being able to see and complete their task, and not wanting to “re-write” and “move” tasks over. Are these the most important scenarios for us when thinking about this area?

This is now available. To use, search for the Roadmap app in Teams. We also have a Project app for viewing the project schedule. All Office 365 users will have read-only access to any project/roadmap shared with them so add your project/roadmap to Teams to help the team collaborate.
