    Hi everyone!

Thanks for the votes, we’re definitely thinking about this one. If we had an import to Project button, would this improve your experience in the Web? Would you be able to be successful managing your projects purely in the web? If not, why not? If you would still need the client, why?

    Thank you!

I second the urgent need for import and export capability. We have really tried at our organisation to make Project for Web work as the UI looks great and seems to be intuitive for all sorts of users, but sharing plans with externals is a nightmare and it's at the point where it has become an info sec issue for us as we have to apply for permission to provision externals with internal O365 accounts so they can view and interact with our plans. At this point the tide is turning and Project for Web is seen as a hindrance by many in the company rather than a useful new tool.
In addition to the lack of being able to share with by import/export or another means, having project plans "live" and constantly syncing while entering tasks means there is often a lag while tasks are entered, so large project plans can't be drafted quickly by experienced users. Myself and other PMs really miss being able to wrangle large and complex plans quickly in the old desktop application.

    Hi everyone,

This is currently in development, and we will provide updates when we have them. Additionally, we have just announced that we are supporting read-only access for Projects & Roadmaps with an O365 license. This will start rolling out next month, which will be beneficial for Teams View Access once we complete this! You can learn more here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/roadmap?filters=&searchterms=60646

    Thank you!

    Hi everyone!

I’m updating this to “partially complete” as we have finished rolling out the “Copy Project” feature. You can access this by opening a project, clicking on the title to open the details pane, hitting the “…” in the top corner, and then the Copy command.

You can get more details, tips and tricks here: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/project-blog/copying-projects-in-project-for-the-web/ba-p/1477766

We’re still thinking about the specific templates scenario and reading your comments below. Please try the feature out and let us know what other feedback/improvements can be made.

Hi everyone – thanks for the feedback so far. In regards to Planner & Project for the web, we are definitely listening to these scenarios and thinking about how to improve them!

Would helping import from Planner to Project be helpful in this case, and enabling teams to work in Project?

I read a lot of comments on making sure we can leverage full Planner capabilities in Project, team members being able to see and complete their task, and not wanting to “re-write” and “move” tasks over. Are these the most important scenarios for us when thinking about this area?

    Hi everyone!

Thank you for your feedback and sharing your scenarios with us.

We have started work on this and will be supporting an export to excel feature along with an export to pdf feature for projects, based on the feedback you’ve shared.

As a reminder, we have enabled read-only access to projects and roadmaps to non-project licensed users, as long as they have an O365 license. You can learn more about that here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/project-for-the-web/office-365-user-view-access-to-project-and-roadmap

We’ll keep you updated here – please keep sharing all of your Project related feedback with us!

    Hi everyone!

There are a lot of asks in this thread, and I wanted to assure you we are looking at all of them. As an update, I wanted to share what items are “planned” in the shorter term. This includes Teams Integration, Attachments, Notifications, Group By “Assigned To”. We are also “in development” for Custom Fields- which will allow you to create a Priority field. Other asks on this thread are a bit farther out to share details on, so don’t worry – we are evaluating everything you’re asking for!

Please continue to share your feedback!

    Hi everyone!

Thank you for your continued feedback here. We are working on enabling you to create and use custom fields in Project for the web.

While we don’t have an ETA quite yet, we will provide one as soon as we can.

As always, let us know if you have any more feedback (on this suggestion, or other suggestions).

    Hi everyone!

I’d like to understand why you need to edit the schedule in the desktop app, versus just in the web? What key components can be improved for you to work in the web, without needing the client?

If we provided an import from .mpp to the web, would you be able to be successful managing your project in the web? If no, why not?

Thank you! We love hearing your feedback.
